This torte has been on my “to bake” list for year. Maybe like 4 years? Just way too long. I bought some plums on a whim and realized that I finally had a reason to bake this torte. I was shocked at how easy it was to bake, and how delicious it is! The plums stay super juicy, and the cake is really tender with a crunchy top. Apparently the NYT used to print the recipe for multiple years in the 80’s, and when they stopped people were outraged. After tasting the cake, I totally get why.

Note: The recipe calls for 24 plum halves but I couldn’t fit that many. I think I had about 12 plum halves in here.
